Rebag & Bridget

Meet
Style Assembly member Bridget.

Our fourth Style Assembly member needs no introduction — and no last name either. With just the moniker @Bridget, Bridget Bahl has become a household name known for her exquisite fashion sense, budding clothing line, and of course, her perfectly curated Instagram account.

From fashion publicist for Saint Laurent to style blogger to influencer to clothing designer, there’s truly nothing Bridget Bahl can’t do. With over 800,000 followers, Bridget is the ultimate influencer. Her perfectly curated feed is filled with enviable style, impeccable home decor, and luxurious vacations all while keeping it real with her community. With credentials like that, it’s no wonder we asked Bridget to curate a collection of her favorite Rebag accessories and keep it real with us in an exclusive interview. Scroll on to get to know the one and only Bridget…

Tell us a bit about how you got started in the world of fashion…

Bridget: I grew up in Pittsburgh, but it was always a dream of mine to move to New York and work in the fashion industry. I ended up going to The Fashion Institute of Technology for a year after I got my bachelor’s degree and haven’t left New York since! When I first moved to the city, I had $200 and didn’t know a soul. I worked countless hours and jobs to build a network and an understanding of the industry to better position myself. After nearly 18 years, I am so thankful for all that I have learned and all the people who taught me along the way.

What was the transition from a 9-to-5 publicist for Saint Laurent to fashion blogger like?

Bridget: Well, the publicists at Saint Laurent work a lot more than 9 to 5, so I want to give them credit where it is due. Haha. Honestly, the transition was a hard one for me. I had just spent years working my way up the corporate ladder and all of the sudden I was at the bottom again. Right back to intern level, not making any money… hustling. Working in PR really molded me. I am super grateful for those years!

You influence and inspire hundreds of thousands of followers with your incredible content. What has been the most memorable moment of influencing for you?

Bridget: For me, I’d have to say launching my clothing brand, The Bar. It’s still just a baby but already selling at Revolve, Moda Operandi, Shopbop, and Intermix. It’s so much work but super rewarding.

As an influencer, what are the biggest challenges you face?

Bridget: The biggest challenge is not having enough hours in the day! There are just so many things I would love to have time for. During quarantine, I would spend almost two hours a day replying to DMs. I miss that.

Do you have tips for people looking to build their social media audiences?

Bridget: Stay 100 percent true to yourself. The things that make you different are things that will make you stand out! Also, understanding that branding matters and it is okay to pass on jobs if they are not a good fit for you or if you don’t absolutely love the product. Building trust results in loyal followers!

What is your favorite investment piece in your closet?

Bridget: It is so hard to pick just one, but if I had to choose an accessory, I’d say my Vintage Chanel 2-in-1 micro mini flap bag waist chain belt. If you’ve been following me, you’ve seen me wear it 200 times. I love anything that I can repeat for years and never get sick of.

What’s one luxury accessory you would recommend everyone invest in?

Bridget: A men’s Rolex or a Chanel bag. I think everyone’s first designer bag should be Chanel.

You curated a collection of the chicest accessories for summer from Rebag. Can you share your top five favorite pieces and why you chose them?

Bridget: I chose the Chanel Vanity Case because the Vanity is just so major. Since you can never go wrong with Chanel, I also selected two of their gold chain belts. These make any outfit… better! Even a baggy t-shirt and a Chanel Belt, that’s pretty fire! Lastly, the Louis Vuitton Pochette Accessories Monogram bags because 2000s baby!
