Chanel 19

The Chanel 19 bag was the final bag designed by the late Karl Lagerfeld, who created it with current Chanel creative director Virginie Viard. Named 19 after the year it debuted, the Chanel 19 is a contemporary version of Chanel’s classic flap bags, updated with oversized diamond quilting, a trio of chunky chains for the strap, and a new version of the CC turnlock.

the Chanel 19 Bag

Depending on the size, the smaller Chanel 19 bags are great for evening use, while the larger ones are ideal for everyday use. The Chanel 19 bag can be dressed up or down, and depending on the color, it can complement a number of looks. Click on the slideshow on the right for inspo.

Round Clutch

The Chanel 19 Round Clutch measures at 5″ W x 5″ H x 2.5″ D. It has a 1” handle drop and 23” strap drop. It’s one of the smaller Chanel 19 bags, making it great for evening or a night on the town. It can carry a small wallet or cardholder, lipstick, and keys. It can be carried as a crossbody, shoulder bag, or clutch.

Flap Coin Purse

The tiniest Chanel 19 bag is the Flap Coin Purse. With dimensions of 4.5″ W x 3.5″ H x 1.5″ D and a strap drop of 21”, it can be worn as a crossbody or on the shoulder. Its tiny size means that it can fit small things, like credit cards, business cards, cash, and coins.

Wallet on Chain

The next largest size of the Chanel 19 is the Wallet on Chain, which is great for an evening bag. It measures at 7.5” W x 5” H x 1.5” D with a strap drop of 25” and a handle drop of 3.5” Wear it as a handbag, crossbody or shoulder bag. It can fit cards, cash, and coins.

Medium

The Medium Chanel 19 bag has dimensions of 10.1” W x 6.2” H x 3.5” D with a strap drop of 19.5” and a handle drop of 3.5”. It’s a great day to evening bag, and ideal for everyday use. Carry it as a crossbody, handbag, or shoulder bag. It can fit your phone, wallet, keys, lipstick, and a few other items.

Large

The second-to-largest Chanel 19 bag is the Large. Its generous side makes it a great everyday bag for work. Measuring at 11.7” W x 7.8” H x 3.9” D with a 4” handle drop and 20” strap drop, the Large bag can fit a lot, including a tablet, small book, wallet, makeup bag, phone, and keys. Use it as a shoulder bag, handbag, or short crossbody.

Maxi

The Maxi is the largest Chanel 19 bag at 14” W x 9.8” H x 4.3” D. It has a strap drop of 20” and a 4” handle drop. Wear it as a shoulder bag or handbag. It can fit a number of items, including a small laptop, tablet, small book, makeup bag, phone, wallet, and keys.
