this September.
From Peter Do’s highly anticipated runway debut to Thom Browne’s whimsical handbags, Rebag takes a look back at NYFW Spring/Summer 2022, which took place from September 7 to September 12 in New York.
Peter Do Makes His Runway Debut
After working for Céline’s ready-to-wear collection under Phoebe Philo, and Derek Lam, Peter Do has stepped out on his own with his eponymous ready-to-wear label known for its minimal silhouettes, and precision tailoring. One of the most anticipated shows of NYFW, Do made his runway debut at the waterfront in Greenpoint on September 8. Do introduced his first line of handbags, which include Hinge bags, equipped with discreet metal closures, and giant Dumpling bags that wrap around the body. What we’re wondering is if he’ll be the next Céline alum to produce a fashion “It” bag.
Moschino Recalls the Playful Innocence of Childhood
Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott returned to the Big Apple to stage the Italian fashion house’s Spring/Summer 2022 runway show. Gigi Hadid opened the show, held in New York’s Bryant Park. Scott’s collection recalled the playfulness of childhood, and the handbags featured toy letters, cute animals, and whimsical shapes.

Thom Browne Creates a Fantasy Wonderland
After four years in Paris, Thom Browne returned to New York. The fashion designer created an irreverent fantasyland, complete with a model riding around on a penny-farthing. The collection included handbags shaped like a vase, covered in flowers, and in the form of a pegasus.

Tom Ford Closes NYFW With Seductive Glamour
Tom Ford closed out New York Fashion Week with his signature sexy aesthetic. The jewel-toned collection featured a lot of shine, a dose of sparkle, and some bling. Shiny belt bags accented with crocodile-embossed leather and tiny metal mini bags dotted the collection.
