Dior’s Maria Chiuri Grazia Goes Pop Mod for Spring 2022.

Maria Grazia Chiuri brought Christian Dior back in time, traveling to Dior of Marc Bohan. Mod shift dresses, mini skirts, and prim jackets dominated the youthful collection. Accompanied by a rainbow of handbags, Dior looks towards a bright and youthful future.

Dior artistic director Maria Grazia Chiuri went back into the archives of the ‘60s, when Marc Bohan, took the helm of the Christian Dior from Yves Saint Laurent, who left to join the military. To create the brightly colored scenography for the show, Chiuri enlisted Italian artist Anna Paparatti, who recalled a piece she initially created in the ‘60s.

Chiuri’s reimagination of Bohan’s 1961 “Slim-Line” collection for Dior saw mod shift dresses, mini skirts, bold color blocking, and an array of poppy hues. The handbags carried the same mood, with new mini versions of the Lady Dior and the Dior 30 Montaigne. Radiant box clutches, hobos, and bowler bags were also dotted throughout.
