The Fendi Baguette celebrates
25 Years

Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi celebrated the 25th anniversary of the iconic Fendi Baguette in New York — the city that made the bag famous. The brand tapped one of New York’s most legendary designers, Marc Jacobs, to collaborate for Fendi Resort 2023.

“It’s not a bag, it’s a Baguette,” stated Sarah Jessica Parker to a thief on Sex and the City. The Fendi Baguette appearance on one of the most popular shows of the ‘90s and ‘00s catapulted the handbag to It bag status, turning it into one of history’s most iconic handbags.

Fendi artistic directors Kim Jones and Silvia Venturini Fendi tapped Marc Jacobs and Tiffany & Co. to collaborate on the Fendi Resort 2023, and headed to New York to celebrate the bag in the city that made it famous — New York,,

“I didn’t want to do a traditional ‘collection’ for the anniversary, said Jones. “Rather it’s a celebration of a time, of the moment the Baguette became famous. I relate that time to a sense of freedom in excess and fun – both qualities the Baguette possesses.”

Jacobs reinterpreted the Baguette, making it oversized, while Tiffany & Co. coated Baguettes in its signature Tiffany Blue, and Japanese luggage company Porter gave it a masculine twist, unveiling a backpack and a new Fendi Baguette bum bag.
